of people with chronic pain continue to experience severe limitations despite treatment
Chronic pain is a widespread, global problem. Roughly one in five people worldwide live with it, with back pain among the most common presentations. Despite treatment, more than 30% of people with chronic pain continue to experience severe limitations in their everyday lives.
The default treatment remains medication, effective for many, but carrying the risk of severe side effects and, over time, dependency. For patients already managing the physical burden of cancer and its treatment, adding that risk on top is a real cost.
Developed in Europe and now being brought to India through this exclusive partnership, the device is setting a new benchmark in pain relief through auricular vagus nerve stimulation, a minimally invasive method that combats chronic pain effectively and sustainably, without the side-effect profile of medication.
Relieves pain without the known side effects or dependency risk of medication
No surgery, no systemic medication
Tailored stimulation with a low side-effect profile
Designed for straightforward clinical application
The vagus nerve is the most important nerve in the parasympathetic nervous system, the part of the autonomic nervous system that regulates the body's "rest and digest" state. It governs key body functions, including inflammatory response, and carries information between the organs and the brain, running from the brainstem down to the abdominal organs and out to the outer ear, where its nerve fibres are easily accessible.
Chronic pain is frequently accompanied by ongoing misregulation of the autonomic nervous system. Auricular vagus nerve stimulation works by modulating how the body perceives and processes pain, producing long-term effects through targeted electrical impulses. Rather than masking pain systemically, the way medication does, it activates the body's own response.
